Dana’s Hair Loft to Design for 2nd Annual AIMC & Fashion Expo

PROMINENT VILLAGE SALON OWNER SETS THE STYLE FOR MODELING COMPETITION.

Dana Gibbs, CEO of Dana’s Loft Hair in the Village, is partnering with Africa Pearls, Inc., to serve as the hair and makeup coordinator for the 2nd Annual African International Modeling Competition (AIMC) and Fashion Expo on Saturday, November 15, at the Hampton Conference Center, 207 West Hampton Place, Capital Heights, MD.

Ms Gibbs will provide creative concepts for hair and makeup as well as coordinate and provide direction for 15 student volunteers from the Hair Academy Beauty School, Maryland.

Africa Pearls, Inc., a modeling, talent and event production company is dedicated to defining for ourselves what true beauty is for African women of the Diaspora. This effort is growing in popularity among young African women and the competition has attracted 100 aspiring models from all over American and throughout Africa. Twenty young women of African decent from will compete for a lucrative modeling contract and other prizes.

The evening will feature performances by African and American entertainers, including a former contestant, celebrity judges and an awards ceremony for trend setters in fashion. Designers Denita Skye, RozeMarie Cuevas of JC Studios©, swimwear Anna Kosturova, Emua Fashions and Chéz Noel of VanNy Design Gallery are among the designers participating in the Fashion Expo.

Dana Gibbs is a seasoned celebrity hair care specialist, hairstylist and makeup artist with more than 15 years experience in the fashion and entertainment industries. Ms. Gibbs was much sort after as a freelance stylist early in her career because of her style, creativity and overwhelming passion for what she does. As her popularity grew, Ms. Gibbs ventured to open her own shop in order to better serve her loyal clientele and the growing list of new referrals.
